MOTM: Music of the Movement – Collective of diverse group of musicians Collective is a diverse group of musicians that came together to inspire others. Tire of the rigid confines of what constitutes a band or genre, MOTM Collective was built upon the idea that collaborating and building a musical community drives progress and a unique sound. With a few core members, they are an ever-changing group of talent from all over the globe. Whether it’s and island-inspired reggae track, a hip hop verse, a Bossanova rhythm, or an Arabic inspired guitar solo, each song is a reflection of the collaborators’ life experiences. Currently based on the island of Maui,
Mark Damon: Founder Maui Bees Mark and Leah Damon created Maui Bees Inc. to serve the local community as a family business in Kula, Hawaii for the past 10 years. When they first met, Mark and Leah combined their shared passion for bees and wholesome organically grown food to create a joint farming venture that was an immediate hit with the local community. They produce first quality garden-fresh produce, organically fed pastured eggs, and amazing Maui Honey. Over the years they have developed a stewardship model of farming techniques that reflects a solid commitment to regenerative farming. The farm uses biodynamic sprays and preparations, builds all its own organic compost, inoculates the soil with beneficial microbes, and uses cover crops and “no-till” mulches to build carbon in the soil. Their commitment to their honey is second to none. They have always insisted on keeping it pure, unfiltered, and raw. They use a 100% cold process that ensures the honey stays below room temperature. More recently they just completed a brand new commercial kitchen to produce value-added foods and products from their farm. In addition to a wide range of fresh farm products, their resident culinary chef now offers a fabulous to-go menu of organic entrees and soups using fresh produce from the farm’s gardens. Also new, the addition of a dedicated structure “the bee museum” has ushered in an educational component to the farm. Visitors can watch bees safely behind the glass walls of two observation hives and learn all about the inner workings of a living beehive. The farm offers hands-on “honey bee tours “ as well as “ regenerative agriculture tours” for visitors who want a more in-depth educational experience. The farm also offers structured educational programs to school groups of all ages.
