Ulupono Initiative: Multi-Island "Farmer Listening Sessions"
Ulupono Initiative is organizing small gatherings in agricultural production “hot spots” within each County over the next couple of weeks to listen, learn, and brainstorm solutions to Hawaii’s many challenging food issues.
In an effort to improve our current local food production metrics and better understand the constraints in the system that make expansion challenging, Ulupono Initiative is inviting key stakeholders throughout the state for insights and suggestions. We hope that these sessions will contribute to the collective knowledge of both the constraints and opportunities for investment of resources that will help us move towards greater food self-sufficiency.
These listening sessions will be held on the following dates in the following locations:
- Kauai Session POSTPONED – Lihue, Kauai at Lihue Library (4344 Hardy St.)
- Dec 2nd, 10am-12pm- Waimea, Hawaii Island at The Kohala Center Conference Room (65-1291 Ste. A, Kawaihae Road, Kamuela, HI)
- Dec 12th, 3-5pm- Kahului, Maui at Maui Arts & Cultural Center Cole Conference Room (1 Cameron Way)
- Dec 13th, 3-5pm- Honolulu, Oahu at Ulupono Offices (999 Bishop St. #1202)
- Dec 14th, 3-5pm- Hilo, Hawaii Island at Hawaii Innovation Center (117 Keawe St.)
