Hawaiʻi Flood Response Fund: Standing with Our Communities and Farmers
Hawaiʻi Farmers Union stands with our communities during times of crisis. As severe flooding and extreme weather impact the islands, we are once again reminded how quickly disaster can affect our farmers, food system, and rural communities.
Our hearts are with the families and farmers facing flooded fields, damaged homes and equipment, and lost crops.
HFUF has long worked alongside community partners to support disaster response and recovery across Hawaiʻi. Following the Maui wildfires, HFU President Kaipo Kekona helped establish a community response hub in West Maui that distributed over $1 million in critical supplies and thousands of pounds of fresh food to families in need.
Today, we are mobilizing once again.
HFUF is launching the Hawaiʻi Flood Response Fund to support farmers and rural communities impacted by flooding and the extreme weather across the islands. This fund will provide immediate relief while helping farmers recover, rebuild, and restore Hawaiʻi’s local food system.
Together, we can ensure Hawaiʻi’s farmers have the support they need to rebuild and continue feeding our islands.
Mahalo for standing with Hawaiʻi’s farmers and communities.
